Gone Girl
Author:
Gillian Flynn
When:
May 16, 7 p.m.

One of the most critically acclaimed suspense writers of our time, New York Times bestseller Gillian Flynn takes that statement to its darkest place in this unputdownable masterpiece about a marriage gone terribly, terribly wrong. The Chicago Tribune proclaimed that her work “draws you in and keeps you reading with the force of a pure but nasty addiction.” Gone Girl’s toxic mix of sharp-edged wit and deliciously chilling prose creates a nerve-fraying thriller that confounds you at every turn.

Upcoming Activities and Announcements

A farewell brunch in honor of Pastor Greer will be held at the Radisson Kingsley Hotel in Bloomfield Hills, Sunday, June 23, after the worship service. All are invited to share in this celebration. More details to follow.

The Cass Community is completing renovations on the Antisdel Apartment Building which will house 41 previously homeless people.  The cost to furnish each apartment is $2500. The Missions & Outreach Committee of FCC supports this cause and is asking for your help. Please consider a donation to help furnish an apartment and provide a home for someone in our community.

We are now accepting applications for FCC Sunday custodians (Youth). Applicants must be 14 years or older. Please contact the church office for more information.

Keeping you informed -Those of you who are not on our mailing list and would prefer the Franklin Friend be sent to you by regular mail, please contact the church office.

Want to help? Need to get rid of the small bottles of lotion, shampoo, soaps, etc. - or full size hygiene items including toothbrushes and toothpaste? A basket on the Caring Table in Searls Hall is waiting for your donations. They will then be taken to Alternatives for Girls, where everything will be used.

The coffee and flower charts are begging for your attention. Please consider hosting fellowship hour and dedicating flowers in 2012. Maybe select a date for each……..Thank you. Keep the ministries alive.

FCC Endowment Fund -When the Israelites prepared to march into the Promised Land, they were reminded that they would drink from wells they did not dig (Deuteronomy 6:11). We can relate to this reminder for we have a sanctuary we did not build and enjoy other improvements we did not finance.
The Franklin Community Church Endowment Fund enables you to support our Church through planned giving in addition to your support through our annual Stewardship campaign. Planned giving is powerful. You decide where your hard-earned funds will go. Please consider our Endowment Fund in this respect.
